Description
We are looking for an Process Analyst in our Health Information Management Department at Howard Memorial Hospital. This is a non-exempt 72 hours per pay period position. We are a critical access hospital located in Nashville, Arkansas. We provide comprehensive patient-focused care in a variety of settings— emergency, surgical, inpatient and outpatient—delivered by skilled medical professionals. Our not-for-profit status ensures that all financial resources remaining after expenses are re-invested in the hospital to improve technology, the facility and patient services. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for documentation audit for the Emergency Department paper records, Inpatient Records, Surgery Records and all outpatient services.
  • Carries out all phases of the document imaging process including chart preparation, scanning of charts and loose documents to ensure accurate and timely delivery to the EMR.
  • Sorts and scans “loose bucket” to ensure all documentation is scanned in within 48 hours of being turned in for scanning.
  • Works collaboratively with all HIM department members as well as other departments to ensure availability, timely completion, and accessibility of all records.
  • Responsible for purging ED paper records within HMH policy guidelines.
  • Answers phone calls to the HIM department, splitting the responsibility 50/50 with Release of Information position.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills
  • One year of hospital clerical experience preferred
